Don’t let the smile fool you. Lies, all lies. I feel more like the woman behind me. Bleck. The Mud Hen 5k this weekend was a really lovely event. The weather was near perfect – sunny and cool (the previous year it had snowed). [...] My April 5k is: 7th annual Mud Hen Run at McIntosh Lake in Longmont 5 Reasons to sign up (according to the website): Great Longs Peak views No traffic worries Run on a closed path Wildlife viewing Peace and tranquility I love running around McIntosh Lake in Longmont. The Kid’s birthday is between Thanksgiving and Christmas, a hectic time of year anyways, and then to throw on top of that, the financials of throwing a birthday party AND guilting friends and loved ones to spend more money on birthday gifts and/or travel just seems [...] I realize it is already a week into fall, and October is this weekend (zomg) but in Colorado the temps are record highs of 80s and so I still feel summer lingering on. I’m not quite ready for it to be over.
Confession: I enjoy hay bale season in Boulder County. I know, it doesn’t make sense. Allergy-burdened that I am, finding the simplest pleasures when local farmers head out into the fields, cut grass, shape them and cart them off. You [...] |
