One weekend this fall, I found myself wandering in the rain in nearby downtown Estes Park, Colorado. Once again, I was the new kid at a new school, but I had this game down. To make friends, you gotta share your Oreos. Who [...] I am not usually at home during the weekday so when the doorbell rings at 1:30p I immediately think it’s 1. proselytizers 2. solicitors for yardwork, painting, cabinets, security systems and the like. I will have none of either. So when I crept up to the peephole and saw dear Stephanie, fellow mama who is [...] One of my earliest memories is baking with my Mom (you should really first read about all the reasons I love my Mom). One of her specialties is pumpkin bread, a recipe she gave me right before I got married. She wrote in her scripty + neat handwriting that she had gotten this recipe [...] OK so *I* don’t make anything crafty, but I know lots of people who do and despite all appearances I am inspired to give it a try sometime. As an annual holiday tradition, my friend Kristi (@KristiRitter on Twitter) makes an army of ornaments to give out. She’s like Hallmark but better because it’s handmade. [...] This is my godmother, whom I affectionately call Fairy Godmother — FGM for short — with The Kid last holiday season. This is one of my favorite pictures of her. She’s one of my favorite people.
